PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an outer rotor that can smoothly be expanded and reduced in diameter, and a manufacturing method of the outer rotor that can improve workability and obtain desired dimension accuracy. SOLUTION: An engaging protrusion 25 having a substantially columnar pole shaped head 25a is formed at one of divided cores 17, and an engaging recess 26 that is engaged with the engaging protrusion 25 is formed at the other of the divided cores 17. An annular rotor core 12 formed by coupling these divided cores 17 to each other by the engaging protrusion 25 and the engaging recess 26 with a slight clearance therebetween. According to this, the adjacent divided cores 17, 17 are slidable with respect to each other, and the diameter of the rotor core 12 can smoothly be expanded and reduced.
