PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a filter device of a vacuum cleaner capable of easily removing dust stuck to a filter formed with pleats. SOLUTION: A cleaner body 10 incorporates an electric blower 11 and has a suction port 12 in its front. An air duct extending from the suction port 12 to the electric blower 11 is provided with a front-stage dust collecting part 17 and a rear-stage dust collecting part 18. The front-stage dust collecting part 17 collects the dust by a cyclone method and the rear-stage dust collecting part 18 catches the dust by a filter device 20. The filter device is provided with a frame body 21 and a filter 22 stored in the frame body 21 to be freely taken in and out. The filter 22 has a plurality of pleats 23, is stored in the frame body 21 with the pleats 23 pushed and contracted therein, and when being taken out from the frame body, the pleats 23 can be developed in an extending form.
