The invention relates to an extract of Viscum cruciatum Sieber having cytotoxic activity, as well as isolated active principles which are topoisomerase II poisons, to pharmacological compositions containing both the extract and the isolated active principles thereof and to the use of said compositions in the preparation of a medicament for the treatment of cancer. The invention is suitable for use in the field of medicine.
