<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information system using an advertising medium with an IC chip and a reader/writer, which can be simultaneously used by a plurality of merchandise providers. <P>SOLUTION: This information system includes an information writing means for writing information in each address in an IC chip with an advertising medium, an information reading means for reading information in the IC chip by a reader/writer connected to or incorporated in a portable terminal, an information display means for displaying the information on the display screen of a portable terminal and an information transmitting means for transmitting information in the IC chip read by the reader/writer and the personal information of a consumer or request data through the portable terminal to the server of a merchandise seller.
