PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid container which has a piezoelectric device that detects a consumption state of an inside liquid. SOLUTION: The piezoelectric device 106 of the liquid container has an oscillating part which contacts via a cavity with the liquid in a container body. An oscillation region of the oscillating part is regulated by the cavity. In the piezoelectric device 106, the oscillating part is forcibly oscillated when a drive signal is applied to a piezoelectric element of the piezoelectric device 106 via an external terminal 107 from a controller of the inkjet recorder where the liquid container is set. The external terminal 107 is electrically communicated with an electrode of the piezoelectric device 106 so that the controller detects via the external terminal 107 a residual oscillation characteristic value of the piezoelectric device 106 based on a counter-electromotive force by residual oscillation brought about at the oscillating part after the forced oscillation.
