PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically update software without depending on the capacity or limit of a mail server via a network. SOLUTION: The automatic update device comprises a content providing server 1151 for providing an update program to a communication means 1160, an e-mail receiving means 1220 that is connected to a file information providing server 1152 for providing file information of the update program and acquires an e-mail from the file information providing server 1152, a program name creating means 1230 for creating a network address and file name of the content server 1151 having the update program based on the e-mail acquired from the file information providing server 1152, a download means 1221 for downloading the update program, a save means for saving the software before update, and an update means 1260 for updating the software.
