PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing toner particles using a gas flow type classification apparatus in which an accurate classification point is obtained, more accurate classification can be performed and powder having a precise grain size distribution can be efficiently produced. SOLUTION: On classifying a source powder to be supplied from a source supply nozzle 16 into at least a fine powder, a medium powder and a coarse powder by Coanda effect, the angleαmade by a line connecting the arc center O of a Coanda block 26 and the top of a first classification edge 17 to fractionate the power into a medium powder and a fine powder, with respect to the side face of the Coanda block 26 in the source supply nozzle 16 side, satisfies the relation (1): 52°<α<72°; and the angleβmade by a line connecting the arc center O of the Coanda block 26 and the top end of a second classification edge 18 to fractionate the powder into a coarse powder and a medium powder, with respect to the side face of the Coanda block 26 in the source supply nozzle 16 side, satisfies the relation (2): 28°<β<48°.
