Headrest comprises a box (2) which is able to pivot about a catch hoop (6) from an upright use position into a backward-pivoting non-use position. A locking hoop (5) is fixed to the catch hoop and a latch (4) pivots on the box. A bolt (3) blocks the latch in the use position and releases the latch when the bolt is shifted using an actuating part (8). Preferred Features: The catch hoop, locking hoop and the pivoting axis of the latch are aligned parallel to each other.
