<p>A communication apparatus, which is compliant with a system using two or more discontinuous frequency bands, comprises a BPF part (9) including a plurality of BPFs corresponding to the signals of the respective frequency bands; a control part (4) for controlling means used for transmitting/receiving the signals of the frequency bands; a down-converting part (7) for switching the frequencies under control of the control part (4), while down-converting the signals as filtered to baseband signals; a receiving part (2) for performing a predetermined reception process under control of the control part (4); and a transmitting part (1) for performing a predetermined transmission process under control of the control part (4). The processing of the baseband signals is implemented by use of hardware common to the communications of all of the frequency bands.</p>
