<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a transmission error from being propagated and spread when the transmission error occurs in transmission of a moving picture. <P>SOLUTION: When the transmission error occurs, error region information showing an error region is sent. An error reference decision section 63 uses the error region information and a moving vector to determine whether the error is included in the position of a reference frame to which a macroblock to be encoded refers. According to the determination results, a compressing method selection section 61 performs inter-picture compression in the absence of an error, and applies picture compression processing to the macroblock when the error is included in the position of the reference frame being referred to. According to whether the error region is referred to, compression forms can be switched in macroblock units, so that the moving picture can be compressed without spreading nor propagating the error. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
