PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid droplet ejecting apparatus which can detect an ejection abnormality and can judge its cause by measuring a period of residual oscillation of a diaphragm by means of a capacitance change of an actuator after the liquid droplet ejection action, an inkjet printer, and an ejection abnormality detection/judgment method of a liquid droplet ejecting head. SOLUTION: The liquid droplet ejecting apparatus is equipped with the liquid droplet ejecting head 100 which includes the diaphragm 121, the electrostatic actuator 120 that displaces the diaphragm 121, a cavity 141 that is filled with a liquid inside and whose internal pressure is increased and decreased by the displacement of the diaphragm 121, and a nozzle 110 that communicates with the cavity 141 and ejects the liquid as liquid droplets by the increase and decrease of the pressure in the cavity 141; a driving circuit which drives the electrostatic actuator 120; a residual oscillation detecting means which detects the residual oscillation of the diaphragm 121; and an ejection abnormality detecting means which detects the abnormality of ejection of liquid droplets on the basis of an oscillation pattern of the residual oscillation of the diaphragm 121 detected by the residual oscillation detecting means.
