PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a combustion device capable of accurately determining whether a temperature detecting means operates normally or not, and capable of preventing a vaporization part from reaching a high temperature higher than required during a determining operation. SOLUTION: In this combustion device 1, the vaporization part 7 is energized upon turning on an operation switch, the determining operation to confirm if an temperature sensor 75 accurately operates by monitoring if the temperature detected by the temperature sensor 75 installed in the vaporization part 7 rises to a prescribed temperature is carried out. The determining operation is broadly classified to a primary determining operation S1 performed immediately after its start and a secondary determining operation S2 subsequently performed. When the determining operation advances to the secondary determining operation S2, a control means P confirms if the temperature sensor 75 can normally grasp the temperature of the vaporization part 7 while introducing air into the vaporization part 7, by operating a blower 2 and an air quantity adjusting part 4.
