PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a staple receiving tool for a stapler capable of saddle stitching large-size paper exceeding a length of an arm of the stapler with a compact structure. SOLUTION: The staple receiving tool 1 is constituted by a base 2 and an arm 3 integrally continued with each other on the other end side so as to open an end side and receive paper P as a stitching object between them. A groove 4 corresponding to the arm 3 is formed on the base 2. A staple receiving part 5 for receiving and bending a staple pushed from the stapler 10 into a predetermined shape is provided on a tip of the groove 4 of the base 2. The staple receiving part 5 is provided with a supporting plate 6 fitted with the groove 4 and fixed on the base 2, and a steel plate 7 having a fitting hole 7a fitted with a protrusion 6c on the supporting plate 6 and prevented from coming off. A fitting part 8 fitting with a staple housing part 11 of the stapler 10 and aligning a stapling position with the staple receiving part 5 of the base 2 is provided on a tip of the arm 3.
