PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and method for cutting a prepreg material by which a prepreg material can be sub-divided into a prescribed dimension by cutting and the amount of dust generated from a cutting face can be reduced. SOLUTION: The cutting device for a prepreg material is provided with a pair of feed rolls for pushing out a sheet-like prepreg material, which is composed by impregnating a long base material with an organic resin and by drying the long base material, in the advancing direction, a plurality of heating bodies for heating cutting scheduled positions of the prepreg material, a plurality of temperature detectors for measuring a surface temperature of the prepreg material, and a plurality of cutting instruments for cutting the cutting scheduled positions of the prepreg material. At least one of the cutting instruments cuts the prepreg material in parallel with the advancing direction of the prepreg material.
