PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a driving or rivet-spiking device characterized by simple constitution, lower cost, smaller size, and more convenient nature compared with existing devices of the kind. SOLUTION: A spiking device 10 is equipped with a combustion chamber 14 for oxidizer-combustion gas mixture, designed to move toward the axis due to at least one pressing device and to have wall portions guided by at least one guide means, for the purpose of spiking nails, bolts, pins, and other fixed elements into boards, as well as with a guide cylinder 12, connected with the combustion chamber 14 and designed to arrange for the movement of a spiking piston 11 inside. This spiking device 10 is also structured so that the pressing device is linked with the movable wall portions in terms of operation through a conveyance unit designed to convey pressing strokes. In this combustion gas-driven spiking device 10, the conveyance unit 20 is composed as a rope-towed conveyance unit, while the wall portions 16 are composed as rear walls of the combustion chamber that slide within the combustion chamber sleeve 15, while the rope-towed conveyance unit 20 is equipped with a conveyance member 21 and at least one deflection wheel 24 for use with the conveyance member 21.
