PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article which receives excreta from a wearing person and can be easily unfold. SOLUTION: The main body part of the absorbent article 1 is provided with: an absorbent core 22 which is an absorbent; a top sheet 21 covering the main surface on the wearing person side of the absorbent core 22; and a back sheet 23 covering the other main surface of the absorbent core 22. In the absorbent article 1, in a state before use, a first part 25 and a second part 26 are folded while facing each other with the top sheet 21 on the inner side so that the length in the longitudinal direction of the first part 25 is longer than the length in the longitudinal direction of the second part 26. When the absorbent article 1 is used, a user (for instance, a wearing person himself/herself or a care giver) holds a projection part 251 with one hand and lifts the absorbent article 1, or puts the hand on the second part 26 while holding the projection part 251, and thus the absorbent article 1 is easily unfolded.
