<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a target detection device excelling in a stable operation at room temperature, capable of sensitively detecting various kinds of targets such as a biological material with little noise by using a single electronic device using carbon nanotubes for a channel, and particularly suitable for a single electronic sensing device; to provide its manufacturing method; and to provide a target detection method using the target detection device. <P>SOLUTION: This target detection device is characterized by including: a carbonaceous linear structure including at least two lattice defects; a first electrode and a second electrode arranged to sandwich the at least two lattice defects included in the carbonaceous linear structure; a third electrode for providing an electric field effect to the carbonaceous linear structure; and a target acquisition body capable of interacting with the carbonaceous linear structure, of acquiring a detection target and fixed to a non-existing part of the lattice defects on a surface of the carbonaceous linear structure by the interaction with the carbonaceous linear structure. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
