<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a metal complex having a tridentate ligand and monodentate ligand and expressing sufficient light emission performance. <P>SOLUTION: The metal complex comprises a metal selected from transition metals of the forth period and the fifth period, W, Os, Ir, Au and lantanoides, the monodentate ligand and the tridentate ligand containing≥1 aromatic rings and 3 ligand atoms in the aromatic rings and expresses light emission in the visible region at≥10°C.
