PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To cope with a problem of a shortened life due to arc generation in an electric bulb with efficiency and life improved by dint of xenon sealed in. SOLUTION: In the electric bulb with xenon sealed in a glass bulb by 70 to 95 volume percent, a filament 6 is arranged in the glass bulb 1 so that a distance (A) between both ends of the filament 6 be 5 to 20 mm, a distance (B) between a filament support part 6T and a connection part 7L of a filament end part be 7 to 10 mm, a shortest distance (C) between the center of a luminous part 6C of the filament and the glass bulb 1 be 12 to 16 mm, and a smallest angle (θ) made by the luminous parts 6C of the filament be 25 to 120°.
