PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing rubber-reinforcing fiber with high adhesive force to rubber. SOLUTION: The method for producing the rubber-reinforcing fiber comprises conducting a corona discharge treatment or low-temperature plasma treatment of fibers coated with a resin based on resorcinol-formalin-latex (RFL). In this method, it is preferable that the fibers be synthetic fibers and the ambient gas at the electric discharge part in conducting the treatment contain 5 wt.% or more oxygen.
