TIBIAL TRIALING ASSEMBLY AND METHOD OF TRIALING A TIBIAL IMPLANT

A trialing assembly (10, 110, 210, 310) for use during knee replacement procedures to determine size and position of a tibial plate implant as well as the size and thickness of the articular surface prior to implantation of the implant. The trialing assembly includes a broaching plate (12, 112, 212, 312, 512) having a tibia engaging bottom surface adapted for placement atop a tibia and an opposite top surface, the bottom and top surfaces extending between an anterior edge (16, 216, 416, 516) and a posterior edge (18, 218, 418, 518) of the broaching plate. The broaching plate (12, 112), 212, 312, 512 includes an anterior rail (26, 226, 426, 526) and a posterior rail (28, 228), (428, 528) protruding superiorly from the top surface and extending along the anterior and posterior edges, respectively. A trialing plate (14, 114, 214, 314, 414) is configured to removably fit atop the broaching plate between the anterior and posterior rails. The trialing plate includes an engagement member (48, 248, 348, 448) extending superiorly from a superior surface of the trialing plate and adapted to engage with an articular surface provisional.
