A vehicle light has a long, light entrance aperture defined in approximately one plane, and closed by a light panel (1). On the inner face of the light panel (1) is a first, optically-active structure (10) extending over the length of the light panel (1), which deflects the part-light beam striking it to a zone of the surface to be illuminated, which lies away from the motor vehicle light in the direction of a second edge of the surface to be illuminated, lying next to the vehicle light and extending over part of the spacing of these two edges.
