<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an endoscope system which enables an accurate specification of a lesion section, and a highly precise analysis of the lesion section to be performed during an endoscopic observation. <P>SOLUTION: This endoscope system has an endoscope having a flexible tube which is inserted in a body cavity, photographs the biological tissue in the body cavity, and is used for the observation of the biological tissue. The endoscope system is constituted by having a terahertz photo-emitting means which emits terahertz light, the flexible tube distal end section, a signal forming means, and a spectral means. In this case, the flexible tube distal end section has an abutment region which abuts on the biological tissue, and where the terahertz light enters, and an evanescent wave is generated. The signal forming means forms a current signal by utilizing reflective light from the abutment region. The spectral means is arranged outside the flexible tube, and performs a spectral process regarding the biological tissue from the current signal which is formed by the signal forming means. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
