PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a semiconductor memory device and storage control method capable of increasing storage speed in storing information in a plurality of semiconductor memory chips in parallel. SOLUTION: When information is stored in two or more of the plurality of memory chips 52A-52D in parallel, a memory controller 54 controls the device so that the information is stored in parallel in a plurality of groups constituted by combining one storage block in each memory chip according to a predetermined rule using the storage speed every storage block, in increasing order of difference between the lowest storage speed and the highest storage speed of each storage block in each group.
