PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for producing a coating material-coated material in which the surface of the material to be coated is prevented furthermore from being contaminated. SOLUTION: The surface of the material to be coated is covered with a surface mask on which such a mask pattern is formed that a portion thereof where a coating material is applied to the surface of the material to be coated is penetrated and another portion where the coating material is prevented from being applied to the surface of the material to be coated is not penetrated. The coating material is jetted/applied from a spray nozzle toward the surface mask-covered material to be coated to produce the coating material-coated material.
