The room divider, composed of wall or furniture sections (11) supported by vertical pillars, uses round tubes as the pillars (10). Grooves (31) are around them to be engaged by ratchet locks (30) of knotting points (22) forming openings for the holders (35) of the wall sections. The knotting points have an upper and a lower section with a peripheral groove (33,34) between them for the wall holder. The plastics clamp (25) is pressed radially against the pillar by a relative axial movement of the upper and lower sections.
