The rolling bearing ring (6) of a bearing (1) runs in a race (11) with edge hardening layer with an unhardened slip zone at one point. A boring (15) is made in the region of this zone. Its diameter is greater than that of the zone. After the initial hardening, a disk (10) is inserted in this boring, which is of the same hardness as the race. The race and the disk are finally machined together.
