PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a barrier material having excellent steam barrier properties, and a display using it. SOLUTION: The laminate contains a base material layer, a composition layer and a metal oxide layer. The composition layer comprises a composition containing: a hydroxy group-containing polymer (A); a hydrolyzed condensate of a metal alkoxide compound (B); and a hydrolyzed condensate of a boron atom-containing compound (C), and the molar ratio of the compound (B)/the compound (C) is 1.5-10,000.
