PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cotton ball capable of preventing an X-ray contrast thread from falling out, and capable of being easily found in a radiograph. SOLUTION: Two X-ray contrast threads 3 are disposed along a vertical section 12 of spherical absorbent cotton 2, and two X-ray contrast threads 3 are disposed along the cross section 14 of the absorbent cotton 2. As a result, four X-ray contrast threads 3 are present in total in the absorbent cotton 2. Accordingly, the X-ray contrast threads 3 of the cotton ball 1 can be easily imaged in the radiograph when an X-ray of the cotton ball 1 is taken. The X-ray contrast threads 3 cross each other in the shape of a cross along a vertical virtual line 11 and a horizontal virtual line 13 at an upper part of the absorbent cotton 2, and the X-ray contrast threads 3 are twined together at the upper part of the absorbent cotton 2.
