<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a link system of PXC and WDM which is capable of cutting and dividing troubles occurring between PXC-WDM, and operating an optical network with high reliability and high efficiency, in an optical network where working paths and standby paths are set up. <P>SOLUTION: A current path passing through transmission units (WDMs) 5 and 7 is set up between optical cross-connection units (PXC) 3-4, and a standby path passing through transmission units 6 and 8 is set up. When the current path is set up, WDMs 5 and 7 cancel the mask processing between them in coordination with PXCs 5 and 7; and when the current path is canceled between WDMs 5 and 7, mask processing is set up between them. WDMs 5 and 7, included in the current path, appropriately sends out an alarm properly to a monitoring system, when input light is blocked; and WDMs 6 and 8 included in the standby path will not send out an unintended alarm to the monitoring system, even if the input light is blocked. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
