PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cassette of excellent examination precision for medical examination capable of eliminating labors and time of transferring a specimen during preparation of a sample, capable of keeping the specimen in a prescribed position and direction to be embedded, cutting it into a thin slice, and of attaining labor saving for work and quickening the work. SOLUTION: A specimen mounting sheet 27 mounting a specimen 15 is stored inside a cassette main body 1, to be treated with a chemical under a condition covered with a lid body 2, after arranging a pressing sheet 29 comprising polyurethane on an upper part of the specimen mounting sheet 27, the specimen mounting sheet 27 mounting the specimen 15 is stored inside a tray 16, the cassette main body 1 is mounted on the tray 16, liquefied paraffin 17 is injected additionally until immersing the cassette main body 1 into the liquefied paraffin, followed to be solidified so as to prepare a cassette block 18, then the specimen mounting sheet 27 is separation-removed to form the cassette block 18 embedded with the specimen 15, and it is sliced to manufacture the thin piece for the medical examination.
