PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent occurrence of irregularity on a joint part at a time when performing perfecting printing, particularly irregularity visually observed in the see-through view and irregularity caused by an already-printed face at a time when rear-side printing is carried out right after front-side printing in an image forming apparatus using a full-line head having a joint-structure. SOLUTION: This image forming apparatus 1 has the full-line head in which a plurality of recording heads 21 for forming an image by dots are arranged in a direction perpendicular or inclined at an angle to a conveyance direction of a recording medium 3. The recording heads 21 are arranged roughly in parallel and the adjacent two recording heads are overlapped to each other at the joint part so that positions of the joint parts in the front-side printing and the rear-side printing are different from each other.
