PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a game machine capable of facilitating the early discovery of a game machine with abnormal connection to a game medium dispenser, and reducing the non-operated state of the game machine. SOLUTION: The game machine comprises a variable display means for variably displaying a plurality of identification information, a betting number setting means for setting the betting number by a player, a variation starting operation detecting means for detecting the variation starting operation of the identification information by the player, a game control means for controlling a variable display game with the identification information by the variable display means, and a game medium dispensing means for dispensing game media to the player based on a game medium dispensing signal from the game medium dispenser connected to the game machine. The game control means starts the variable display of the identification information in the variable display means on condition that a prescribed condition is satisfied, and stops the variation of the identification information. If the abnormal connection to the game medium dispenser is determined by a connection state determining means for determining the state of connection to the game medium dispenser in the game machine, setting of the betting number and the start of variation of identification information by the game control means are restrained.
