A wireless terminal (100A) is adapted to the OFCDM system and comprises a signal processing section (151) and a synchronization detecting section (162). The signal processing detecting section (151) performs Fourier transform when adapted to the OFCDM system and performs Fourier transform and inverse Fourier transform when adapted to both the OFDM and CDMA systems. When adapted to the OFCDM system, the synchronization detecting section (162) uses the taps used for both the OFDM and CDMA systems. The configuration of the wireless terminal (100A) is switched to the one adapted to both the OFDM and CDMA systems when it goes out of the area of the OFCDM system.
