<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problems that video-recorded programs are limited to programs of an installation area and there are video recording errors due to a deficiency in capacity and a failure in reservation since a reservation is made to a video recording device in a member's house through conventional reservation service; and it takes much cost to install a video recording server device in a center. <P>SOLUTION: At a request from a client device 119, a service providing server 101 retrieves a suitable video recording and reproducing device among video recording and reproducing devices 115 to 118 connected through a network 108 and reserves video recording of a program.
