PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an manufacturing method for an installation ring greatly contributing to reduction of manufacturing costs and to improvement of reliability of strength, by eliminating machining work and using a simple circular cylindrical material, and provide the installation ring. SOLUTION: A circular cylindrical material 12 having a predetermined wall thickness t and a predetermined length L is made (A). Firstly, the cylindrical material 12 is compressed in the axial direction by using a mold assembly to bulge the intermediate part inward in the radial direction, and a roughly shaped work 14 having a thick-walled section 13 in the intermediate part in the axial direction is obtained(B). Next, the roughly shaped work 14 is compressed again in the axial direction by using another mold assembly to bulge two ends 14a, 14a inward in the radial direction, and the installation ring 10 having annular projections 15, 15 in both ends part is obtained(C). A groove 11, 11 between the thick-walled portion 13 and the annular projection 15 functions as a retainer groove for an elastic member press-fitted in the installation ring 10.
