PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reduction gear device for a vertical mill comprising an output table and a carrier integrated into one body, wherein sets of related parts constituting the reduction gear device are disposed underneath vertically aligned planes horizontal to its casing, by which vertical downsizing and a high load transmission capacity of the device are achieved. SOLUTION: The reduction gear device for a vertical mill comprises an output table 12 that is disposed on top of the casing 10 and supported by a thrust bearing 11 so as to rotate freely; and a planetary gear reducer 3 that is disposed underneath the bottom surface plane of the output table 12, comprising a sun gear 20, a planetary gear 22, a planetary frame 24 for the planetary gear 22, and an internal gear 21; wherein the output table 12 and the planetary frame 24 of the planetary gear reducer 3 are integrated into one body as an output table assembly 2 and the individual gears and the planetary frame 24 of the planetary gear reducer 3 are disposed underneath the above horizontal bottom surface plane together with the thrust bearing 11 supporting the output table 12 of the output table assembly 2.
