In one embodiment, the channel information detector includes (1) an information retriever configured to extract data unit parameters from a plurality of data units progressing through a protocol stack and (2) an information analyzer, coupled to the information retriever, configured to collectively analyze the data unit parameters to deduce channel information therefrom.
