ROTOR/STATOR DEVICE AND METHOD FOR SALT-FREE COAGULATION OF POLYMER DISPERSIONS

A rotor/stator device is proposed having a bearing block, a housing (1), a rotor shaft mounted therein at the housing-side end of which a rotor is fixed that has a conical surface and with which a stator (2) fixed in the housing is concentrically associated, wherein the mutually facing surfaces of the rotor (2) and stator (3) form a gap upstream of which an axial supply connector is connected and downstream of which a radial outlet connector is connected, the rotor and stator being displaceably mounted in an axial manner so as to form a gap whose width can be adjusted, said device being characterised in that, in the region of the supply opening of the rotor/stator device in the supply line just before the rotor/stator device and/or in the housing (1) and/or in the stator (2), one or more outwardly leading holes are provided and, in the annular space about the shear gap next to the outlet opening, at least one further hole is provided. Additionally proposed is a method for the salt-free coagulation of polymer dispersions using the above-described rotor/stator device.
