The camshaft has cams (3, 5) connected with inner and outer shafts, respectively, and a connecting unit (10) to connect a rotary drive (9). The rotary drive exerts radial supporting forces on the camshaft. A connection is provided between the connecting unit and the outer shaft to transfer the radial supporting force to the outer shaft. The unit (10) has a connecting pin as a force transmitting unit between the drive and shafts. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a camshaft.
