The actuator has piezoelectric-ceramic plates stacked one above the other and with electrically conducting inner electrodes that are connected with outer electrodes supplying a control voltage for the actuator. Side surfaces (6) of the actuator are formed with an uneven, enlarged surface and comprise ceramic grains (12), which are brought up through a sintering process. Transverse narrow channels are formed on the surfaces (6).
