Specifically disclosed is a method for producing an optical multilayer body comprising a light-transmitting base and an anti-glare layer formed on the light-transmitting base, wherein the light-transmitting base is prepared and the anti-glare layer having recesses and projections is formed on the light-transmitting base. When the average distance between the recesses and projections of the anti-glare layer is represented by Sm, the average angle of inclination of the recesses and projections is represented by ?a, and the average roughness of the recesses and projections is represented by Rz, the recesses and projections of the anti-glare layer are so formed that Sm is not less than 100 µm but not more than 600 µm, ?a is not less than 0.1 degree but not more than 1.2 degrees, and Rz is more than 0.2 µm but not more than 1 µm.
