<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of accurately reading an image for control on a belt used as a transfer material carrier or an intermediate transfer body which moves endlessly and on which the image for control is formed while securing required frictional force between a driving roller for the belt and the belt. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus 100 includes: the driving roller 52 having an inner periphery part 52c near a rotary shaft 52e and an outer periphery part 52a and rotating by receiving driving force; and the belt 51 coming into contact with the driving roller 52 on the outer periphery part 52a of the driving roller 52 and moving endlessly. The outer periphery part 52a and the inner periphery part 52c of the driving roller 52 are composed of the same material, and the surface roughness Rz of the contact surface of the outer periphery part 52a of the driving roller 52 with the belt 51 is 2μm≤Rz≤9μm. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
