<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a load driving unit which is inexpensive due to its small circuit scale and besides eliminates erroneous recognition in the determination of an output voltage. <P>SOLUTION: This load driving unit is equipped with a general determination circuit 5 which generates a general determination signal (signal h), an output stage 3 which drives an L load 7 by an upper output driving signal (signal i) and a lower output driving signal (signal j), an output driving circuit 2 which generates the signals i and j by an upper switching signal (signal b), a lower switching signal (signal c), and the signal h, a switching signal generating means 1 which generates the signals b and c and a determination timing signal (signal a) for determining the determination timing of the general determination circuit 5, an output voltage level detecting circuit 6 which generates an output voltage level detection signal (signal e) by comparison between a preset output determination reference voltage and a voltage generated by the output stage 3, and a determination circuit 4 which generates an upper determination signal (signal f) and a lower determination signal (signal g), receiving the signals b and c and the signal e.
