<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the security of an IC card in use by making it difficult to leak personal information. <P>SOLUTION: A liquid-crystal panel 2 and an input key 3 are arranged on a surface of a contact-type IC card 1. When the contact-type IC card 1 is used, the input key 3 is operated to input a password to the contact-type IC card 1. A comparison logic part 6 compares the password inputted from the input key 3 with a password 7a stored in a ROM 7. When the password inputted from the input key 3 matches the password 7a stored in the ROM 7 (step S3), the IC chip 4 is permitted to fetch personal information 7a.
