PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information recording method in which a sub picture can be altered easily between an effective sub picture and an ineffective sub picture when a sub picture capable of being reproduced with a common DVD player is recorded and edited in disc movie employing DVD media as a recording medium, and to provide an information editing method and an information recorder/reproducer. SOLUTION: The information recorder/reproducer comprises an input means for taking in a video image and voice, a compression means 103 for creating an MPEG stream from a video image and voice input by the input means, a means 109 for creating a sub image, and a stream creating means 111 for multiplexing an MPEG stream of a video image and voice and a sub image. The sub image creating means 109 creates a plurality of sub images, the stream creating means 111 multiplexes at least one of the plurality of sub images, as an ineffective sub image which cannot be decoded, with an MPEG stream of a video image and voice.
