PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reading apparatus capable of preventing an original data file from being overwritten in the case of integrating read image data into the data file whose file name has been set. SOLUTION: The image reading apparatus 1 for integrating read image data into file data whose file name has been set and performing prescribed processing is provided with an overwriting inhibition control means 10 for rejecting the storage of overwritten file data when storing overwritten data by the same file name after integrating the read image data into selected file data and editing the data.
