PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means with which a pedestrian, especially an aged person and a physically handicapped person can positively indicate the person's existence to the drivers of automobiles or the like at night. SOLUTION: A light emitting device 1 is provided with a flexible sheet 2 which can be wound and fixed onto a body to be mounted, optical fibers 3 which are arranged on the outside surface of the sheet 2 to at least expose light emitting surfaces 30 and a light source 41 which irradiates to the light introducing surfaces of the optical fibers 3 with light beams. Since the sheet 2 is flexible, the sheet 2 can be wound and fixed to an arbitrary place of the body to be mounted such as a bar shaped member, i.e., a stick and the frame of a wheelchair or the like. Since the optical fibers 3 are arranged on the outside surface of the sheet 2 that is fixed and light beams are emitted from the optical fibers 3, visibility of the stick and the wheelchair or the like is improved at night.
