BACILLUS SP. I-52, A DETERGENT- AND OXIDANT-STABLE HALOALKALOPHILIC PROTEASE THEREFROM, A GENE ENCODING THE SAME AND A USE THEREOF

The present invention is directed to an isolated Bacillus clausii I-52, a protease isolated therefrom, an isolated gene encoding the same and the use thereof. Particularly, the present invention is directed to a an isolated Bacillus calusii I-52 which produces a protease retaining activity thereof under extreme conditions, a protease isolated therefrom and having such an activity, an isolated gene encoding the same, and industrial uses thereof such as laundry industry, leather industry, food industry, fee industry and waste treating industry. Since the pretease of the present invention retains enzymatic activity under extreme conditions such as alkine solution, presense of detergent and high temperature and has a broad substrate specificity capable of removing foods, blood or body fluids, it can be used as an effective ingredient of detergents for fabric, kitchen or contact lense as well as for processing of foods, feeds or leather and treating organic wastes.
