PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a handle assembly for spinning reel ensuring a male screw not to be exposed outside. SOLUTION: The handle assembly 1 comprises a handle shaft 7, a handle arm 8, a handle grip 9, a cylindrical covering member 70 attached onto the outer circumference of the tip of the handle shaft 7 and covering the outer circumferential side thereof, a cylindrical screw member 71 provided on the outer circumference of the tip of the handle shaft 7 so as not to be turnable relative to the handle shaft 7 with a male screw 71a formed on the outer circumference, and a cylindrical mobile member 72 disposed on the inner circumference of the covering member 70, wherein the inner circumference is provided with a female screw 72a screwable on the male screw 71a. In this handle assembly 1, the covering member 70 is formed so as to cover at least part of the outer circumference of the mobile member 72 and the whole of the outer circumference of the male screw 71a with the mobile member 72 not attached.
